Access Logan Inc. – Terms and Conditions of Membership

1. Introduction

1.1. Access Logan Inc. (“the Association”) is a registered not-for-profit Incorporated Association.

1.2. The Association’s principal purpose is to promote and advance the arts and culture in the Logan community and beyond, with a focus on:

  • Visual Arts (painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, photography, contemporary and digital art).
  • Performing Arts (music, theatre, dance, performance-based practices).
  • Craft and Design (ceramics, textiles, jewellery, woodworking, and other traditional and contemporary crafts).
  • Community Arts and Cultural Development (collaborative projects engaging people of all abilities, ages, and backgrounds).

1.3. The Association’s supporting purposes are to:

  • Provide inclusive arts and cultural opportunities for people with disability, carers, seniors, and the wider community.
  • Organise public events, exhibitions, festivals, and performances that showcase and celebrate local talent.
  • Deliver workshops, classes, and educational programs that build skills, confidence, and participation in the arts.
  • Collaborate with artists, cultural organisations, community groups, and educational institutions to promote cultural engagement.
  • Maintain a Gift Fund in accordance with the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997, into which all tax-deductible donations will be made.

1.4. By applying for and maintaining membership, you agree to uphold these purposes and the Constitution of Access Logan Inc.

2. Membership Categories

2.1. The Association offers the following categories of membership:

  • Committee Membership – elected by the members of the Association in accordance with the Constitution and rules of incorporation.
  • Active Member – premium provider membership.
  • Access Partner – mid-level provider membership.
  • Associate Member – entry-level membership.

3. Committee Membership
3.1. All members must support the Association’s objects by:

  • Actively promoting inclusivity and access within arts and cultural activities.
  • Encouraging participation from people with disability, carers, seniors, and under-represented groups.
  • Respecting and contributing to the artistic and cultural focus of the Association.

3.2. Membership is contingent on alignment with the Association’s purposes. Activities contrary to these objects may result in suspension or termination of membership.

3.3. Committee Members are elected in accordance with the Constitution at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).

3.4. Roles include President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and other positions as determined by the Committee.

3.5. Responsibilities include governance, strategic direction, compliance with ACNC and Office of Fair Trading regulations, and oversight of the Association’s activities.

3.6. Committee Members must act in the best interests of the Association at all times, avoiding conflicts of interest.


4. Committee Membership

4.1. Committee Members are responsible for ensuring that all decisions of the Association are consistent with its principal and supporting purposes.

4.2. The Committee must ensure that the Association remains compliant with DGR requirements for cultural organisations, and that the Gift Fund is operated correctly.


5. Active Membership ($800/year or $100/month)

5.1. Benefits:

  • Active referrals through Access Logan’s peer and advocacy network.
  • Priority promotion at NDIS Morning Teas and events.
  • Use of Access Logan’s space for meetings and events (no hire fee; catering/other costs borne by the member; residents have priority).
  • Discounted stalls at expos and community events.
  • Marketing and promotional opportunities via newsletters, social media, and website.
  • Access to peer-to-peer support and collective knowledge.
  • Recognition as a “Dedicated Member” in the directory and marketing materials.

5.2. Obligations:

  • Maintain an active contribution to the network.
  • Support the values and mission of Access Logan Inc.
  • Maintain good standing by paying fees when due.

6. Access Partner Membership ($500/year or $60/month)
6.1. Benefits:

  • Opportunity to promote your business at events hosted by Access Logan Inc.
  • Discounted stalls and exhibitor opportunities.
  • Marketing opportunities through the provider collective.
  • Listed as an “Access Partner” in the directory.

6.2. Obligations:

  • Participate actively in events and collective opportunities.
  • Maintain financial membership in good standing.

7. Associate Membership ($99/year)

7.1. Benefits:

  • Opportunity to promote your business at events hosted by Access Logan Inc.
  • Discounted stalls at expos and community events.
  • Directory listing as a “Directory Member.”

7.2. Obligations:

  • Comply with the Association’s Code of Conduct.
  • Ensure membership fees are paid on time.

8. General Member Obligations

8.1. Members must act respectfully and collaboratively with other members, providers, and participants.

8.2. Members must not engage in conduct that brings the Association into disrepute.

8.3. Members must comply with the Constitution, By-Laws, and any policies of the Association.

8.4. All members must maintain current professional registrations, insurances, and NDIS compliance (where applicable).


9. Fees and Payment

9.1. Membership fees are payable annually or monthly as specified.

9.2. Membership is not confirmed until payment is received in full (or monthly plan is active).

9.3. Membership fees are non-refundable, except in exceptional circumstances as approved by the Committee.


10. Voting Rights

10.1. Only financial members have voting rights at General Meetings.

10.2. Each financial member has one (1) vote.

10.3. Associate Members have limited voting rights and cannot hold Committee positions.


11. Termination of Membership

11.1. Membership may be terminated if:

  • Fees remain unpaid for more than 60 days.
  • The member breaches these Terms or the Constitution.
  • The Committee determines that a member’s conduct is inconsistent with the Association’s values and purpose.

11.2. Members may resign in writing at any time.


12. Privacy and Confidentiality

12.1. Access Logan Inc. respects the privacy of members and complies with relevant privacy legislation.

12.2. Member details will be used only for the purposes of the Association and will not be disclosed without consent, unless required by law.


13. Liability

13.1. Access Logan Inc. is a not-for-profit incorporated association.

13.2. Members acknowledge that their membership does not create any liability for the debts or obligations of the Association beyond their membership fees.

14. Amendments

14.1. These Terms and Conditions may be amended by resolution of the Committee and ratified at a General Meeting of the Association.
