After School Art: Henri Matisse Cut-Outs

What if you could paint without using a paintbrush?

In this colourful after school workshop, young artists will discover the inspiring work of Henri Matisse, one of the world's most influential modern artists. Later in life, when painting became difficult, Matisse developed his famous "painting with scissors" technique, creating vibrant artworks from hand-cut coloured paper.

Students will experiment with shape, colour and composition as they design and assemble their own bold paper collage inspired by Matisse's iconic cut-outs.

This engaging workshop encourages creativity, imagination and confidence while introducing students to one of the most important artists in modern art history.
