Mission Statement 

ACCESS Logan Inc is committed to empowering individuals through creative programs, professional support, and community engagement. We foster safe, inclusive spaces that promote the arts, growth, connection, and holistic wellbeing, helping our members thrive creatively, socially, emotionally, and personally.

Objects

The Principal Purpose of the Association is to promote and advance community arts and cultural development by:

1. To empower individuals with disabilities by providing accessible, inclusive, and creative programs that support skill development, wellbeing, and personal growth. Through the following:

  • Creating opportunities for communities to collaborate with artists across visual, performing, literary, craft, and digital art forms.
  • Supporting inclusive arts programs that enable participation regardless of age, ability, background, or circumstance.
  • Encouraging creative expression that reflects community identity, aspirations, and social issues.
  • Presenting and exhibiting community-created artworks and performances to the public.
  • To deliver workshops, classes, residencies, and cultural projects that build skills, confidence, and participation in the arts.
  • To facilitate public events, exhibitions, festivals, and performances showcasing community arts.
  • To collaborate with local artists, cultural organisations, educational institutions, and community groups in the development of cultural activities.
  • To provide education and training in arts practice, cultural expression, and creative industries to broaden community engagement.
  • To maintain a Gift Fund in accordance with the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997, into which all tax-deductible donations will be deposited and applied solely to the organisation’s cultural purposes.

Ancillary Purposes:

2. To promote social inclusion by delivering community-based activities that foster friendships, reduce isolation, and strengthen the connections between individuals with disabilities and the broader community. 

4. To improve health and wellbeing outcomes for people with disabilities through access to creative arts programs, wellness and community engagement initiatives. 

5. To provide professional support services that assist participants in navigating the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), including Support Coordination and Plan Management, to enhance participant choice, control, and independence. 
6. To create a safe and supportive hub where participants can access a range of creative, therapeutic, and community activities tailored to their individual needs and aspirations. 

7. To advocate for the rights, needs, and inclusion of individuals with disabilities within the Logan region and surrounding communities. 

8. To build partnerships and collaborations with other community organisations, service providers, and businesses to expand opportunities, share resources, and strengthen service delivery to individuals living with disabilities. 

9. To promote public awareness and understanding of the abilities, contributions, and potential of people with disabilities through community events, exhibitions, and public engagement initiatives. 

10. Not-for-Profit and Winding Up

  • The income and property of the Association must be applied solely towards its principal purpose. No portion shall be paid or distributed to members except as genuine reimbursement of expenses or payment for services rendered.
  • In the event of winding up, surplus assets of the Gift Fund must be transferred to another Deductible Gift Recipient endorsed under Item 12.1.1 – Cultural Organisation, with similar community arts and cultural development purposes.
